Ditra Backup (dbackup@umd.edu) joins TLPL after working as a middle and high school social science teacher in Chicago Public Schools. Her experiences as an educator inform her research interests in how social justice- and equity-oriented policies are implemented in k-12 classrooms. She currently serves as a TLPL Graduate Student Association Co-chair.
Ditra previously earned her B.A. in Psychology and International Affairs from The George Washington University and M.S.Ed. in Secondary Teaching from Northwestern University.
