The Disability Studies Minor is designed to broaden students’ understandings of the concept of disability, and facilitate connections to content and concepts within other disciplines on campus. It empowers students to critically engage with issues of disability, fostering a deeper understanding of diversity, equity and social justice. By exploring the complex intersections of disability with culture, society, and systems, students emerge as advocates and allies committed to creating a more inclusive and accessible world for all. All undergraduate students regardless of major are welcome to apply.

The Human Development minor is tailored for students seeking to complement their major field of study with a foundation of human growth and development. Whether aspiring educators, healthcare professionals or policymakers, this program equips students with valuable insights applicable across various fields. Through critical analysis, hands-on research experiences, and exposure to diverse populations, learners deepen their understanding of human development, preparing them for impactful contributions to the world.

The versatile Leadership Studies Minor and Certificate program is ideal for undergraduate students who are passionate about making a difference and eager to develop their leadership potential. Through critical analysis and introspection, students develop a robust leadership philosophy, empowering them to effect positive change in various contexts. With a blend of theoretical foundations, practical applications and experiential learning opportunities, the program prepares students to lead authentically, advocate for social justice, and engage as global citizens in a rapidly evolving landscape. This can be taken as a Minor (15 credits) or as a Certificate (21 credits).

The Secondary Education Minor offers non-º¬Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù majors a pathway to explore the teaching profession through a curated selection of º¬Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù courses. It covers essential topics that include adolescent development and º¬Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù policies. Upon completion, students will have a deeper understanding of º¬Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù theory and strategies to address the needs of students in today's high schools. Students in the following majors/subject areas are eligible to declare the minor in secondary º¬Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù: - Studio Art - English - World Language (Chinese, French, German, Italian, Latin, Russian, and Spanish) - Mathematics - Science (Agricultural Education, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, and Physics) - Social Studies (Geography, Government and Politics, and History)

The Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) minor equips students from diverse fields such as linguistics, languages, sciences, and more with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in an increasingly diverse and interconnected world. Whether pursuing a career in language teaching, enhancing cross-cultural communication skills, or broadening the student’s understanding of language acquisition, this program offers valuable opportunities for personal and professional growth.
