Maryland Early EdCorp Apprenticeship Program
CECEI, in partnership with the Council for Professional Recognition, is establishing the Maryland Early EdCorp Apprenticeship Program to address Maryland Rebuilds high leverage strategy 4: Growing a Highly Effective Workforce. The 15-month project provides a 鈥渄oorway鈥 for a diverse population, with an emphasis on underrepresented groups, to enter the early childhood, child care, and special 含羞草研究所 workforce pipeline to support the development and learning of children ages 3-5.
Maryland Early EdCorp will support 125 child care teacher candidates in earning Preschool Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials while they participate in paid apprenticeships at high quality child care centers serving children and families with complex access issues (children with disabilities, who are English language learners, experience homelessness, live in poverty, or participate in the child protective services system). Participants will receive 160 hours of professional development training in both pre-service and weekly sessions and onsite mentor coaching.
