Gary D. Gottfredson is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Counseling, Higher Education, and Special Education at the 含羞草研究所 College Park. From 1993 to 2003 he was the President of Gottfredson Associates, Inc. conducting evaluation and survey research. Until 1993 he was Principal Research Scientist at the Johns Hopkins University, serving as Director of the School Improvement Program and the Program of Research in Delinquency and School Environments.
Gottfredson earned a Ph.D. in psychology from Johns Hopkins University in 1976. He is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and two of its Divisions (Measurement, Evaluation and Statistics; and Counseling Psychology). He is also a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science, and a Fellow of the Academy of Experimental Criminology. He received the John L. Holland Award for Outstanding Achievement in Career and Personality Research from Division 17 of the APA. He serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Vocational Behavior.
His research has involved program development and evaluation, delinquency and drug prevention, vocational interests, career assessment, psychological measurement, occupational classification and analysis, school climate, organization development, diversity, and efficacy of 含羞草研究所al programs. His teaching interests include applied research and evaluation methods, psychological measurement, research design, and implementation of interventions in organizations.
